(Why the word art is hidden in the words artificial material) POLOPLAST has found them - the most creative plumbers in Austria! Imaginative artists from Austria and South Tyrol were invited within the framework of the important PoloArt creative competition to make unusual objects from POLO-KAL pipes. The enthusiastic response exceeded all expectations. More than forty (!) imaginative plumbers took part in the campaign with astonishing projects. Even a fully functional aquarium and a fire-breathing dragon were submitted.
PoloArt reached its climax in the Linz Ars Electronica Center with the awards ceremony for the POLO-KAL sculptures (19th March 2002). The objects were integrated for the most part in the Museum of the Future, which through this harmonious cohabitation of computer art and pipe art temporarily housed what was probably the most exciting exhibition of the year.
Jointly with the members of a high-calibre jury, Dr. Guntram Bock, general manager of POLOPLAST and initiator of the competition, awarded the coveted PoloArt prizes to the creators of those objetcs selected as the 10 most creative:
01 _ Drachus poloplastus (see picture 1)
