POLOPLAST - your partner in developing and producing custom-made special compounds for innovative applications - was able to present a top-class forum of experts at the specialist conference (17th june 2003) for its new target group under the suject "Highly molecular special compounds for the innovative development of semi-finished products". More than 60 partners followed the invitation of POLOPLAST and used the opportunity, to learn about the newest trends and results of development in a concentrated form, and to discuss them on a high level. The primary focus was on passing on ideas and experiences.
Innovative producers of semi-finished products continually need new products to be able to persist in the marketplace. This requires a strong innovative force, which is the basis for a continual improvement of efficiency and quality and for the ongoing development of new products for the penetration of new markets. Especially new, customized materials are internationally important because of their dynamic of development. Producers of raw material are always confronted with falling margins, which forces them to permanently reduce their costs. This results in a standardizing of their products.
The sound experience of POLOPLAST in developing and producing highly molecular special compounds - which are also used for its own products in its primary division "POLOPLAST PIPE SYSTEMS" - is offered to its clients through the division "POLOPLAST COMPOUNDING". "Within the next five years revenues from this division shall reach 20% of the overall sales. For this purpose POLOPLAST invested more than two million EUR into the business field 'Compounding'", says Dr. Guntram Bock, general manager of POLOPLAST.
"From a processor - for processors", that is how individual solutions in materials, which are synchronized with the needs of the clients, are generated by way of flexible and competent support. POLOPLAST is more and more standing out as an initiator of researching projects in the area of "innovative compounding" and offers impulses for finding new kinds of solutions and applications, functioning as the driving engine of a continuing dialogue between experts in raw materials, producers and users.
POLOPLAST, offering innovative plastic pipe systems for building construction, sewage and water supply, is one of the most innovative companies in its industry. It is specialized in the development and production of multi-layer pipes, using the most modern procedures. The know-how of POLOPLAST is marketed by its divisions Compounding, Engineering and Plastics Technology, so that its efficiency-orientated partners can use it.
POLOPLAST, which is part of the Wietersdorfer group, was able to increase its sales and its profit in 2002 because of its innovative portfolio of products. 170 people were able to produce 36 million EUR in sales. The Wietersdorfer group all together is employing 2.000 people. Including its subsidiaries in the areas "building material" and "pipe systems" the group had annual sales of 400 million EUR.
