Careful planning for peace of mind – dimensioning, fire and sound protection in property construction

All over the world, millions of people move into cities from rural areas every year. Many urban centres are bursting at the seams due to this rapid growth. Inner-city hotspots with excellent infrastructure are popular among building owners and residents alike, and large numbers of high-rise buildings have been built in Austria, as elsewhere, in recent years.

However, high-rise construction presents significant challenges with regard to building physics, logistics, fire protection, sound protection, etc. and strict requirements must be met when laying pipelines in particular.

Following the launch event in Linz in 2019, POLOPLAST organised a seminar entitled “Mit Sicherheit gut geplant – Dimensionierung, Brand- und Schallschutz im Objektbau” (“Careful planning for peace of mind – dimensioning, fire and sound protection in property construction”) in Salzburg at the beginning of February in collaboration with AIR FIRE TECH.

Over 100 planners and installers attended the afternoon event at the Laschenskyhof hotel, with a varied programme presented by speakers from OIB, Hasenauer Installationen-GmbH, AIR FIRE TECH and POLOPLAST. Practical examples were used to explain issues surrounding the legal requirements, standards and regulations, and numerous solutions were discussed in relation to the new challenges.

The seminar chimed perfectly with the current mood in the industry and similar events are already being planned for Graz and Vienna.
